Where Every Waraah Formulation
Starts.

Most wellness brands buy a formula off a shelf and put a label on it. We do the opposite. Every product across NIRAAN, WHYUS, THUNDER and KIDDYCO starts inside our own R&D team, and stays there until the numbers hold up.

— The two disciplines

Two sciences, and neither one works on its own.

Our work sits at the meeting point of two disciplines. Food science tells us what a nutrient does inside the body and what destroys it on the way there. Formulation science tells us how to build a stable, pleasant, shelf ready product around it. One without the other produces either a lab curiosity nobody wants to eat, or a tasty product with nothing in it. We run both, in house, on the same team.

In house R&D

Every formulation developed by our own team.

Proprietary formulas

Not licensed, not off the shelf.

One month cycle

Brief to pilot batch for most categories.

— Why we started with microgreens

We start with a crop, not a recipe.

Microgreens are young vegetable seedlings, harvested within days of germination while the plant still carries its full seed reserve. Published research on microgreens has consistently found higher concentrations of vitamins, carotenoids and phenolic compounds in the seedling stage than in the mature leaf of the same plant. The plant packs its early growth with everything it needs. Harvest at that window and you capture it.

Three things then decide whether the nutrition survives to the plate.

Cultivation control

Light, humidity, temperature and growing medium shape the nutrient profile before harvest. Variability at this stage means variability in every batch downstream.

Harvest timing

The window is measured in days. Cut early and yield drops. Cut late and the profile shifts toward the mature leaf, which defeats the purpose.

Post harvest handling

This is where most nutrition disappears. Heat, oxygen, light and time break down the exact compounds worth capturing. Our processing protocols exist to slow that decay.

— Our disciplines

Different physics, same bench.

Food science

Behind NIRAAN, THUNDER and KIDDYCO

Our food science work covers nutrient retention through processing, sensory design, functional ingredient interaction, shelf stability and the practical question of how a nutrient dense ingredient behaves once you turn it into an instant meal, a beverage or a chocolate. Microgreen powder is not a neutral ingredient. It carries colour, flavour, moisture behaviour and its own reactivity. Building a chocolate a five year old will finish, or an energy drink an athlete will reach for twice, means solving for taste and texture without stripping out the reason the product exists.

Formulation science

Behind WHYUS

Skincare answers to different physics. Our formulation work covers emulsion stability, pH balance, ingredient compatibility, preservation systems, absorption and how a finished product performs across Indian climate conditions and skin types. We formulate clean, and we formulate for performance. A product that separates in a Chennai summer or stings on application has failed, however good its ingredient list reads.

— Our process

Six stages, about one month, brief to pilot batch.

Nothing skips a stage. Most first attempts fail at bench, which is the point of doing it at bench.

  1. 01

    Discovery and brief

We define the consumer problem, the target nutritional or functional outcome, the price position and the regulatory boundaries the product must live inside. Nothing moves until the brief is specific.

  2. 02

    Ingredient research

Our team screens microgreen varieties and supporting ingredients against the brief. We map nutrient profiles, sourcing viability, cost and known interactions. Shortlist follows.

  3. 03

    Bench formulation

The R&D team builds trial formulations. Ratios shift, carriers change, processing sequences get tested. Most first attempts fail here, which is the point of doing it at bench scale.

  4. 04

    Sensory and stability testing

Taste, texture, aroma, colour and mouthfeel go through structured evaluation. In parallel we run stability checks across temperature and humidity conditions to understand how the product ages.

  5. 05

    Pilot batch

The approved formulation moves to our manufacturing partner for a pilot run. We validate that what worked at bench scale survives production equipment, throughput and packaging.

  6. 06

    Quality validation and release

Specification sheets, batch testing protocols and quality parameters get locked before commercial production begins. The specification travels with the formulation.

— For Brand Owners

Have a product idea you want tested? Send the brief.

Our team will tell you whether the science supports it, what it would take, and how long it would run.

— How we produce

We formulate. Vetted partners produce.

This is a deliberate choice, and we are direct about it. Owning a factory in year one would have meant compromising either on formulation depth or on capital discipline. Instead we put our resources into the R&D bench and partner with manufacturers who already run certified, audited facilities at scale.

What stays with us

  • The formulation, which remains our intellectual property
  • The ingredient specification and approved supplier list
  • The process parameters, including anything affecting nutrient retention
  • The quality specification each batch is tested against
  • Release authority on finished goods

— The company

A registered company, with the certification work still in progress.

Waraah Green Technologies Private Limited operates as a legally incorporated Indian company holding Company Incorporation, GST Registration, PAN and the other statutory registrations our operations require. Product level certification is an active workstream. As our range moves into wider distribution we are pursuing the industry certifications relevant to each category, and we will publish them here as they are granted rather than before.

Documented ingredient specifications and approved supplier lists

Incoming material checks before production

In process parameter monitoring at the manufacturing partner

Finished batch testing against a locked specification

Batch traceability from raw material through to pack

Shelf life and stability data supporting every declared expiry

— Work with us

Our R&D bench is available to your brand.

If you are a brand, a retailer or a distributor looking to develop a microgreen based food product, a functional beverage or a natural personal care line, our team can take it from brief to pilot batch. Typical development cycle runs one month, depending on category complexity and regulatory requirements.

What a custom engagement covers

  • Category and consumer brief development
  • Ingredient sourcing and specification
  • Bench formulation and iteration
  • Sensory and stability testing
  • Pilot batch production through our manufacturing network
  • Documentation for your regulatory filings

— Our roadmap

Three lines of work, running now.

Nutrient retention

Better processing methods that hold more of the original profile through drying, blending and storage.

Format innovation

Making functional nutrition fit real routines. A product only works if people finish the pack.

Sourcing depth

Building consistent, traceable microgreen supply so batch to batch variation keeps narrowing.
